As an up-and-coming brand in the beauty space, SIMIHAZE Cosmetics came to us looking for engaging and dynamic social content for TikTok and Instagram reels, focusing on their two hero products, Velvet Blur and Eye Play. I was responsible for establishing the overall visual direction through storyboarding and defining key visual codes in lighting, shot type, and editing style. We delivered a set of short form videos highlighting product usage and application.


BACKDROP  

 When background is visible, it appears as a soft white/slightly tonal gray .


LIGHTING DIRECTION

 Lighting style is bright and full, with some shots being more in-focus, and others push into a soft focus.

EDITING STYLE

  • Quick cuts back and forth between in-focus and soft-focus footage.
  • Play with reversing footage and recolor switches for eye stickers.
  • Blur effect can be used to open/close Velvet Blur content
